Nashville Central High School

Annual Oldies Bash

 

This event is an exciting opportunity to gather once a year for a nostalgic day filled with oldies music, and for just a few hours permit you to fondly drift back in time … into those thrilling teenage wonder days. This will be a rewarding occasion of rekindling old CHS friendships, while listening and dancing away to the live music of all those old beloved songs from way back when.

 

This inaugural special event is scheduled for October 16, 2010 starting at 2 P.M. at the American Legion Post 88, 2864 Elm Hill Pike in Donelson.  It will be held outdoors in and around a huge covered pavilion, equipped with a stage with seating and standing room for many. In anticipation of a large turnout; it may be wise to bring lawn chairs for sitting in the grass area surrounding the pavilion.

 

We are delighted in announcing that there are no fees required to attend this nostalgic Dear Ole CHS extraordinary gala. And as it was with all those exciting weekend parties we attended as teenagers, R.S.P.V.’s are not required … you either show up or you miss out on all the fun …

 

A booth will be available for purchasing food, and a cash bar will also be set up in the pavilion.  And as stated; live entertainment with all the 50's, 60's and some early 70's music performed throughout the afternoon and into the evening.  And should any of our dear alumni from the 40's show up ... we'll have a few tunes struck back for them as well!

 

The fee for the use of the facilities has already been satisfied, but for any attending who may wish to make a donation to help defray this expense, they may do so prior to or on the day of the event. All contributions will be counted that day, and anything exceeding the $410.00 fee will be forwarded to the Central High School Alumni Association’s Scholarship Fund.

 

This past April we held a little prelude to this upcoming October's event and with only three weeks, word of mouth notice … we had 70 or so (including Coach Rackard and Mary Jane) to show up ... and we all indeed had a BLAST!

 

As we now in a timely manner extend this invitation to any and all who attended CHS, we are indeed encouraged over the prospects for a tremendous turnout. So we do hope you make plans to attend, and now ask you to help us to pass the word … thanks.
